As a General Contractor, we like to say our people are an essential role in delivering the Katt Advantage—and Tara Storbeck is no exception. As our Office Manager, she’s often the first person you hear when you call and the one making sure everything behind the scenes is running smoothly.
Tara came to us with a strong foundation in family business. She grew up working in her family’s heating and cooling company, Keystone Heating. From scheduling and invoicing to managing vendor relationships, she did it all. And even back in the day, she helped make parts like dampers with her father.
Rolling Up Her Sleeves
So when she joined Katt in 2024, she already knew what it meant to roll up her sleeves and jump in wherever needed. She’s happy to be working for family again, Herb Katt is her uncle, Nick and Christian are her first cousins.
“I love being able to work with a family company again,” she says. “The flexibility, the teamwork, the occasional tornado—it’s never boring. The team is great at explaining things, and everyone pitches in.”
Around the office, Tara wears a lot of hats: handling account payables/receivables, answering phones, making bank deposits, and running the day-to-day operations that keep our projects humming along. But outside the office? She’s just as busy—and just as creative.
Tara’s Passion
“I prefer to keep busy,” she laughs. “So I do a little bit of everything.” That includes traveling (Hawaii, Mexico, and even Honduras to visit her sister where she tried scuba diving), playing volleyball, creating art (think drawing, pottery, stained glass), and road-tripping to weddings or to catch up with friends.
Her passion shows in her advocacy for mental health—something deeply personal and important to her. “I want to help people who need it. One day I hope to write a book about it.”
Tara’s combination of grit, creativity, and heart is exactly what makes her such a great fit at Katt Construction. We’re lucky to have her keeping the place on track—and keeping us inspired.
